@Nagarjun & @No name: Outlook 2010 is coming up with fully threaded conversations, and will also include emails from other folders (including Sent Items) in the thread view. It's very useful.

Well all information is great thank you very much.

There are some things I don't like very much, for example, your archive folders reside in a PST folder, not on your server, so it would be a bit difficult to access emails regarding an specific project (unless you use always the same laptop), in my case I keep the archive folders in the server (for the current projects, of course)

The other thing I don't like much about Outlook... if TASK is a kind of a mail message with some other properties, why can't I access it the same way as emails? Let me try to clarify: what if I want to read all the pending tasks in the same "Follow Up (Today)" or "Follow Up (Later)"? Is it any way to place the Tasks AND the emails in the same Search Folder? I don't know how... it would be the part missing.

To Nagarjun: Not to knock Gmail, but you CAN get threaded conversations in Outlook. I just learned this last week, actually - you right-click the top bar in the messages pane and choose "Arrange by . . . " and then "Conversation." The rest of the trick is to move all your sent mail into the same folder as your received mail.

Ian: Re the self-management course you took years ago. The method you describe sounds like that of Alan Lakien, author of the book *How to Get Control of Your Time and Your Life." Enjoying your Notebook so far. Thanks for putting it together!

Great stuff! However, I will still miss some features I am accustomed to on Gmail if I use Outlook. This is the only reason that is keeping me from using a desktop email client. I love the threaded conversations and the consolidation features. I think I'll just stick to using Gmail and Google Apps but implement some strategies as mentioned in your research. I'll use Tasks and Stars on Gmail instead of Tasks and Flags on Outlook. Also, chat is built right into Gmail. This way, I can easily prioritize. Thanks for the tips! Will share it with my friends!!
